Hi,
Well, another adventure that I've been through...=)
There is a tradition in Pella, IA, to have a Tulip Time Parade. This tradition came from Holland, since a lot of Holland people moved to the U.S. Usually in April, when it's time for tulips to have their bright color, people in Pella are having parade, with all traditions, including specific food, specific dances and also "cleaning the street". I was lucky to have a chance to to Pella and watch the parade, even though it was absolutely freezing outside, I still enjoyed to watch it.
We started our tour at the parade, by going through stores. I tried almost all kinds of yummy food, and also desert. If ever have chance get to go to the Tulip Time parade, you should definitely go...=) Then we were walking around at the French Corner. It is beautiful place. Then we went to the parade, but the parade began with cleaning the street by people who were dressed up as dutch people, even tiny kids were walking with brushes and buckets, and helped to clean the street. And then, when everybody became a little icy, the parade began. I saw different bands from different schools. And also there was a Tulip Queen, Tulip Counselors, and Future Tulip Queens...etc. I felt Like I got into a fairy tale. Everything looked so unreal awesome, but of course there still were some technology elements, like lightning, sports cars etc. =)
